After years of dreaming, restoring, growing, and obsessing over terroir, we’re finally ready to share a Pinot Noir so flocking good, it might just change the way you think about German reds. This is our boldest, most personal expression yet—a wine that’s been years in the making, and a culmination of everything Robert and I have learnt since settling along the Mosel back in 2017.
In 2022, the Mosel gave us everything we could have asked for: the perfect vintage for red wine. Our fruit grew from an incredibly steep, low-yielding, pain-in-the-calves, super old vineyard just outside the border of Winningen Röttgen, the Terrassenmosel’s most revered Grand Cru.
Hand-picked in September, foot-stomped by beautiful friends and family, and fermented on skins for over a month, this wine was matured in two young French barriques for 18 months. It’s as handcrafted, or "footcrafted", as it gets.
Without question, this is the most distinguished and delicious Pinot Noir Robert and I have made to date. It's more than just a wine though—it’s a snapshot of who we are as a winery: still wild, a lot passionate, but maturing into our own.
